Feng eryu
The permanent violinist of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra was born in Baiyin City, Gansu Province, China in 1995. He started to study violin with teacher Peng Jian at the age of six. In 2005, he was admitted to the primary school affiliated to the Central Conservatory of Music with excellent results. In 2008, he was recommended to enter the Affiliated Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Professor Tang Weijian and Yu Bing. During his time at school, he won the first-class scholarship of the Central Conservatory of Music many times. He served as the principal of the China Youth Chamber Orchestra and toured in Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau, Zhanjiang and other places. In 2013, he received an Italian Galliano violin sponsored by the Hong Kong Chinese Foundation. In 2014, he was admitted to the Cologne Conservatory of Music in Germany. He is currently studying with the famous violinist and educator Professor Micheal Vaiman, and serves as the principal of the Cologne Conservatory of Music Orchestra and the principal of the Cologne Youth Symphony Orchestra. Feng Eryu has won many domestic and international violin competitions: In 2003, he won the second prize of the Gansu Province Violin Competition. In 2007, he won the first place in the Golden Beijing Violin Competition. In 2012, he won the third prize in the Central Conservatory of Music Ensemble Competition. In 2013, he won the Excellence Award in the 1st Schoenfeld International Violin Competition. In 2018, he won the second prize in the 13th Carl Flesch Competition. In the same year, he won the second prize in the 6th Cologne Conservatory of Music Ensemble Competition. Feng Eryu often participates in various internationally renowned music festivals: such as the Salzburg International Music Festival in Austria, the Brescia Talent Master Class in Italy, and the International Summer Music Festival in Spain.
